TN Plus Two Results | TN Plus Two Exam 2014: Results to be declared on 9 May
Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination conducted the TN Plus Two examination for class 12th students of state board schools from 3 March to 25 March 2014, and will declare the Plus Two 2014 results on 9 May at 10 am, as per the available information.
A total of 8, 26,000 regular candidates and 53,000 private candidates appeared for TN Plus Two examinations 2014. All the candidates appeared in the TN Plus Two Exams 2014 will be able to check out their results either on the official website of the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examination: http://dge.tn.gov.in or http://tnresults.nic.in/, or aspirants can also easily checkout their results at TN Board Result 2014
Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education was established in 1910, under the department of Education, government of Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination evaluates students’ progress by conducting board examinations at the end of class 10th and the other at the end of class 12th. The scores from class 12th are used by universities to determine eligibility and cut off for admissions into their programs.
In the year 2002, Tamil Nadu government constituted a new Board for school examination such as “Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination” by uniting together the existing two separate boards (1) Board of Secondary Education and (2) Board of Higher Secondary Examinations.

UGC gets full power over university affiliated technical institutes
In the power struggle between University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), UGC seems to be having the last laugh. It has been reported that UGC's takeover of AICTE duties is complete as far as degree-granting technical institutes are concerned. UGC has formally notified the regulations to be followed by technical institutes affiliated to universities.
According to reports, UGC's regulations come in the wake of a Supreme Court order which negated AICTE's power to grant approval to technical colleges affiliated to universities. Even though there has been counter responses from AICTE, it is mentioned that it is unlikely that its power restored through amendment of AICTE Act will be realized anytime soon. But AICTE can continue to regulate diploma-granting institutions.
As the amendment route was getting delayed, HRD ministry tried to circumvent the SC order by asking law ministry "if rules can be notified under section 25 of the UGC Act to authorize AICTE to accord approval to technical education institutions in the same manner as it did prior to the SC judgment". However, the law ministry shot down the proposal.
Now, it has been reported that the UGC regulation makes it mandatory for a college to first seek affiliation from the university before starting academic activities. A new college proposing to offer technical education can be created by introducing one or more programmes housed either in one or separate buildings. The new college shall be granted affiliation when it is on one contiguous plot of land except for those in north-eastern and other hilly states where it can spread into three pieces of land, not far from one another, by more than one kilometer.

South Asian University Invites Applications for M.A/M.Sc Programs
Applications are invited by South Asian University (SAU), Delhi for admission to Master of Arts (M.A) programs in Economics, Sociology and International Relations and Master of Science (M.Sc) programs in Computer Science, Biotechnology and Applied Mathematics for the commencing session 2014-15.
Eligibility Criteria for SAU, Delhi:
The minimum prescribed eligibility percentage for admission to M.A and M.Sc programs is 50% in bachelor's degree.
Applicants who have not yet completed the bachelor's degree, and shall be appearing for their last year / semester exam for bachelor's degree, may also apply for admission to master degree programs and appear in the entrance examination provisionally.
How to Apply for SAU, Delhi:
Application fee for appearing in the entrance test is US $ 10 or Indian Rupees 600/-. Applicants, who can paythe application fee by credit/debit cards or Net Banking, have the option to apply online.

Gujarat institutes rope in more foreign teachers
The premier institutes in Gujarat are looking westwards and in order to increase global perspective, they are hiring more foreign teachers. It has been reported that for the past two years, IIT-Gandhinagar (IIT-Gn) has been rigorously roping in faculty from overseas.
IIT Gandhinagar has strength of 70 regular faculty members saw around 22 more join them in December 2013. Of that number, 13 are professors of foreign origin. IIT-Gn has made a healthy rise in its strength from seven in 2013 to 13 foreign professors in 2014. In National Institute of Design (NID), 35 foreign faculty members have taught across the 17 disciplines in the three campuses in 2013. It was also reported that Entrepreneurial Development Institute (EDI) had about six foreign faculty members visiting the students in 2013, from places like the US, China and Scotland.
At Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) bringing in professors from across the world is considered important to intersect the different fields of study. Currently, professors Kyle Shepherd, Aryan Kaganof and Matthew Pateman are currently holding interactive sessions with students, it was reported.
It was also reported that Pandit Deeendayal Petroleum University sees about six foreign faculty members on an average in the campus. Similarly, CEPT University had six professors in 2012, and four in 2013, with Prof Henry Skupniewiez working for the newly formed FabLabs in the CEPT campus, according to reports.

IIT-Gn has made a healthy rise in its strength from seven in 2013 to 13 foreign professors in 2014. In National Institute of Design (NID), 35 foreign faculty members have taught across the 17 disciplines in the three campuses in 2013. It was also reported that Entrepreneurial Development Institute (EDI) had about six foreign faculty members visiting the students in 2013, from places like the US, China and Scotland.
At Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) bringing in professors from across the world is considered important to intersect the different fields of study. Currently, professors Kyle Shepherd, Aryan Kaganof and Matthew Pateman are currently holding interactive sessions with students, it was reported.
It was also reported that Pandit Deeendayal Petroleum University sees about six foreign faculty members on an average in the campus. Similarly, CEPT University had six professors in 2012, and four in 2013, with Prof Henry Skupniewiez working for the newly formed FabLabs in the CEPT campus, according to reports.
IPU CET DM (Cardiology) 2014 Exam Dates
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi has announced the exam dates for Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPU-CET) for DM (Cardiology) program, which will be conducted in May 2014. The IPU-CET DM (Cardiology) entrance exam will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2014.
IPU-CET is an entrance exam, which is conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University for taking admission to Doctor of Medicine (DM) program in Cardiology for the academic session 2014-15.
Eligibility Criteria for IPU-CET DM (Cardiology) 2014:
Candidates those have M.D./D.N.B. General Medicine/M.D./D.N.B. Pediatrics/M.D./ D.N.B. Respiratory Medicine degree are eligible for this program.
Application Procedure for IPU-CET DM (Cardiology) 2014:
Candidates need to fill the online application form.
The application fee for the IPU-CET exam is Rs.750/- approximately plus bank transaction charges and taxes (if any) as applicable.
